Interlake New Style

Interlake has two shapes:

• Old style which is the classic teardrop shape
• New style is an angular wedge-like shape

Republic

The Republic pallet racking slots are a keystone shape. Also known as keystone racking, this type of pallet racking is not as common as it once was. Republic is no longer in business, but at least two other rack manufacturers are making this style rack.

Ridge-U-Rack

Ridge-U-Rack slots are long and narrow in shape. This type of pallet racking is quite common and still being manufactured today. This racking features a pinch-pin clip that locks beams in place to support extremely heavy loads.

Sturdi-Bilt

Also made by Unarco, Sturdi-Bilt slots are like the Ridge-U-Rack slots, but the difference is the location. The holes are on the edge of the uprights rather than the middle. Instead of the beam connecting directly to the upright, it sits on a clip that fits on the slot on the upright.

T-Bolt

Unarco has the T-Bolt rack with rectangle-shaped slots with front end only connection. These beams provide a robust and reliable connection and are attached to uprights with large bolts. T-bolt racking is one of the easier types of pallet rack to install.

Teardrop

Teardrop slots are the most common and popular. This unique teardrop-shaped hole which is upside down allows for stability and quick and easy assembly. Numerous manufacturers have adopted this design. The main advantage of this system is that it allows more than one pallet rack brand to fit uniformly with one another. One note – make sure using different replacement parts do not void out your warranty.

The teardrop pallet rack is still one of the most popular types of pallet racking. Teardrop racks are made by several manufacturers in the USA, including Wireway Husky Racks, Steel King, Interlake Mecalux, Hannibal, Ridg-U-Rak, Speedrack and more.
